The Rickety Gate Estate Winery pays tribute to the past while working towards a sustainable future. Named after the previous owner, John Ricketts’s affectionate nickname “Ricketty” present-day owners, Russell and Linda Hubbard continue to honour his legacy with a reputation in the community as loyal and dependable.

The Hubbards believe in a spectrum when it comes to producing sustainable viticultural excellence. Rickety Gate Estate has a valley location that provides the winery with rich Karri loams and gravely soils. With the north-facing slopes of the Bennett Ranges the Hubbards welcomed John Wade aboard and focused on cool-climate wine grapes. The team has always focused on a“No Compromises” ethos while nurturing the land. Today, they have reached a balance of organic and contemporary viticultural practices, and produce vintage Merlots, Rieslings, and much more.

6. Rockcliffe Winery

Dr. Steve Hall purchased Rockcliffe Winery over twenty years ago. At first, the geologist focused on international distribution, but giving back locally has become the priority since 2018.
